The Open Book Project

A week ago, I wrote a story at the Wikipedia Wire, “Living Room Books – Why is Wikipedia Now the Streaming Library?” The site’s original purpose was to digitize the World Wide Web and show it to the public, but what do you do with an archive of your poetry after you’ve done so?

Well, now the Open Library Project has released its Volume 1, the the first year’s poetry entries from the Open World Project. We have purchased poetry from nearly all of the 50 countries in the project, so we can make the poem-generator accessible to those around the world who might not be able to afford an online library.
